Ozan Atalan

Ozan Atalan, studied Sculpture at Dokuz Eylul University’s Faculty of Fine Arts. Following his graduation in 2013, Ozan attended Syracuse University School of Art as a Fulbright scholar. He also worked as an adjunct professor at Syracuse University. He moved back to Turkey in 2016, after getting his MFA degree. Currently, he is working as an adjunct professor at Izmir University of Economics, Visual Communication Department. He continues his PhD in Arts at Yasar University’s School of Art and Design.

Ozan’s practice is dominated by an anti-anthropocentric approach by exploring human nature based specifically on the sense of alienation. He focuses on the hybridization of human and non-human values, the digital and the physical in a socio-critical context. He creates multimedia installations to establish speculative experiences that are realistic to the extent to not disconnect from reality, but distant enough to be able to criticize reality.
