On April 16, 2008, The American Turkish Society held its third Annual Gala Dinner to present the “Corporate Partnership Award” to Jeffrey R. Immelt, Chairman and CEO of GE, and Ferit F. Şahenk, Chairman of Doğuş Group, at The Waldorf Astoria in New York. Mr. David Stern, Commissioner of National Basketball Association, served as Dinner Committee Chairman, along with Mrs. Mica Ertegün as Honorary Chairwoman. The Gala was dedicated to the dynamic collaborations of GE and Doğuş Group in banking and real estate as well as media in Turkey where we celebrated the long-standing joint venture of Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding in Ford Otosan.
