Chobani & Fiba Holding

Chobani & Fiba Holding

On October 6, 2015, The American Turkish Society held its Annual Gala at The Pierre in New York to celebrate the international humanitarian and philanthropic contributions of both Hüsnü Özyeğin, Founder and Chairman of FIBA Holding, and Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani.

Mr. Özyeğin’s foundation is dedicated to education, health, and rural development. It has built 24 schools in rural Turkey and has awarded over 12,000 scholarships to disadvantaged Turkish students. His foundation has developed a holistic approach to rural development that gives a voice to the rural poor and helps to build and revitalize local communities.

Mr. Ulukaya has signed The Giving Pledge committing the majority of his personal wealth to help bring an end to the global refugee crisis. The launch of his personal foundation “Tent” aims to further his commitment to humanitarian support and aid to refugees and displaced people in an effort to end this international crisis.

We welcomed over 350 guests from the public and private sectors, including diplomats, leading business executives, artists, scholars and thought leaders from Turkey and the United States. Proceeds from the evening directly benefited The American Turkish Society’s many programs in the areas of education, arts, culture, and business.
